I became a Christian my freshman year of college when I was part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). It was great learning what it meant to follow Jesus alongside other athletes like myself. When I was on FCA leadership, we did an inter-group sermon series with another Christian club on campus. To put it bluntly, that group was full of hipsters and hippies; not athletes! It was in worshiping with them that I first heard the phrase “The Good Shepherd” connecting Jesus to Abraham, Moses, and King David who were shepherds. The seed was planted, and it eventually led me and my wife Lisa (pictured above) to go to Israel to work on a sheep and goat farm in the desert to learn what it means for Jesus to be our Good Shepherd. I could have comfortably stayed in FCA and attended the same church as the other athletes after college. However, I am convinced that if I had done so, my growth in Christ-likeness would have suffered. This ministry is born from my conviction that "discipleship" and "unity in the Body of Christ" are two sides of the same coin; we cannot have one without the other.
Ministry Verse: By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13: 35, NIV)
